Wayfinding and Directional Signage Solution

The purpose of wayfinding is to assist users in navigating around complex built environments.

The key to effective wayfinding is to create an easy to understand hierarchy of sign types via the use of colours, symbols and platforms. Not only is the information on the actual signage important, but paramount to this is its placement.

In order to design and later on implement an effective wayfinding program it is essential to begin with an audit of the site. This begins with gaining an understanding of the different users of that environment, realising what information needs to be relayed and then assessing the site for the best position of signage platforms.

Below is an example of wayfinding signage that Blueprint Concepts manufactured and installed on behalf of AMP. The team here have been engaged in dozens of wayfinding signage projects, so will definately be able to assist you in your project.

There are a number of different options available to facilities that require wayfinding. From suspended signs, to pylons, to wall-mounted  to free-standing and even projected images, however it depends on the architecture as to what will fit best. If done correctly, wayfinding allows the user to explore an environment with ease.
