Lightboxes
can take many forms from the way they are they constructed to the type of
illumination. There are also different ways in which they can be mounted or
hung but most commonly they are wall mounted, canti-levered or freestanding via
the use of the posts.
Different kinds of lightboxes
Traditional
lightboxes are commonly made from an aluminium extrusion and are generally
between 100mm and 200mm deep. The maximum size of these is generally around
2400x1200. These usually have an opal acrylic face with graphics to the
outside.
Flexface
lightboxes can be much larger as the face of these like a skin made from
banner material. These can be very large.
Ultra-slim
lightboxes are the thinnest type of lightbox. They can be used internally or
externally can be as thin as 30mm. The front face of these can be removed and a
graphic is inserted. These are very common in retail and advertising displays
when the graphic is changed on a regular basis.
Fabricated
ligthboxes can be made from aluminium, alucobond or stainless steel. They can
be constructed in many different shapes and forms and they can also have logos
or letters intra-cut into the panels for greater affect.
Most
lightboxes can be illuminated in several ways ranging from fluro tubes to LEDs with
the latter becoming more popular as they are more energy efficient.
