Architects Blainey North and Associates contacted Blueprint Concepts to complete the signage works at Bell Partners. After working with Blainey North and Associates on a number of projects before, we have had a good relationship and understanding of their stringent requirements.
The concept here is a 3D effect by placing white strips on the façade glass, and hanging mirrored strips on clear acrylic about 200mm in from the glass.
After providing a sample of the polyester mirrored vinyl on acrylic, Blueprint Concepts identified the potential issues and advised that we simply use a mirrored acrylic. Polyester vinyl has a tendency to “bubble” when used on acrylic due to out-gassing of the acrylic.
After a discussion with the client and the prototype, the mirrored acrylic strips were replaced with frosting and the circular section used was mirrored 3mm thick acrylic.
